VOTER REGISTRATION REGULATIONS AND OPTIONS:
You must reside in Crawford County, Missouri, to be a registered voter of Crawford County, Missouri. Eligible citizens may register to vote online at the website of the Office of the Secretary of State; or, register live at the County Clerk’s office in the Crawford County Courthouse, at their local vehicle license office, or at the Crawford County Health Department.
If you have recently changed your name or address, you may update that information at the aforementioned places, or you may notify our office.
The last day to register to vote for an election is the fourth Wednesday prior to the election date.

ABSENTEE VOTING:
Registered voters may apply for an absentee ballot in person or by phone if they are unable to go to the polls on election day. The first day to apply is the sixth Tuesday prior to the election date (or within 14 days of certification of the election) for any election. This application must be signed and returned to our office by the Wednesday prior to the election date if your ballot is to be mailed. Upon signing and return of the application, the voter will be given a ballot in person. In some eligible cases it will sent by mail. Absentee ballots must be voted in our office by the Monday prior to the election, or received by mail on or before the day of the election.
Reasons for voting absentee include absence on election day, employed as an election authority, illness/disability, incapacitation/caregiver, incarceration, permanently disabled, or religious belief.
Permanent absentee applications are available for those meeting certain eligibility requirements.
“A registered voter of this state may cast an absentee ballot in person at a location designated by the election authority for all candidates and issues for which such voter is eligible to vote at the polling place if such voter expects to be prevented from going to the polls to vote on election day due to one of the reasons listed in subsection 3 of this section. A registered voter casting a ballot under the provisions of this subsection shall provide a form of personal photo identification that is consistent with subsection 1 of section 115.427. Beginning on the second Tuesday prior to an election, a reason listed under subsection 3 of this section shall not be required, provided that, the provisions of section 1.140 to the contrary notwithstanding, this sentence and section 115.427 shall be nonseverable, and if any provision of section 115.427 is for any reason held to be invalid, such decision shall invalidate this sentence.” — Section 115.277(1), RSMo. —
VOTING LOCATIONS:
There are seven (7) polling places in Crawford County to accommodate eighteen (18) precincts with nine (9) townships.

ELECTION CANDIDACY:
The first day for filing a declaration of candidacy for an election is the sixteenth Tuesday prior to the election date. The final certification deadline for candidacy for any election is the eleventh Tuesday prior to the election date. You must file your candidacy with the County Clerk for county offices and at the respective entity for a municipal election.
